I am pleased to announce that I will be releasing 4 new soundtracks of my old Sierra titles in the coming year!
Volume 1 will be the Quest for Glory: Shadows of Darkness Soundtrack (QFG4). This album will not only contain all of the original Sound Canvas (ultra high quality) and Sound Blaster/Adlib (FM synth) versions of every song in the game, but also over 20 new arrangements of the songs using modern samples and real instruments.
Volume 2 will be Freddy Pharkas Frontier Pharmacist.
Volume 3 will be Shadow of Yserbius.
Volume 4 will be Robin Hood: Conquests of the Longbow.
I hope to be completed with Volume 1 at the end of July this year. I’ll update this post if that changes.

I am pleased to announce that my new album, Quest for Glory:Shadows of Darkness, has been released and is available for sale today! The album features 42 all new arrangements of some of the most iconic music of my career. In addition, all of the original music from the game is included for 100 total tracks! Please, share this and help me get the word out. I poured my blood sweat and tears into this and held nothing back. It’s now up to my friends and family to help me share it with the world!

Quest for Glory: Shadows of Darkness UPDATE 2 – 11/24:
27 new arrangements have been completed and only a few more left until completion of all new arrangements. Once that is accomplished I have to master all the tracks and get them uploaded. I am hopeful that I can get this done over the next couple of weeks! So close now. Thanks for your patience.
Quest for Glory: Shadows of Darkness UPDATE 1:
11 totally new arrangements are completed and 19 more are in various stages of completion. I decided to do more than I originally planned so it’s taking a bit longer than expected but I think everyone will appreciate the extra tracks. I also realized that it’s been so long since I composed the material that I had to relearn how to play quite a bit of it! Also, the guitar and violin parts were quite tricky to do and I have to take a day off between songs or my fingers will blister which will delay the project. You can check out a couple of the arrangements here:
Very excited! QFG4 one of my all time favourites and love the music from it; used to try it on the piano all the time. Will be looking out for the remakes, excllent idea!
Super-excited to hear what you’ve done with QFG IV! It remains one of my favorite soundtracks to this day because it covers such a wide range of moods and themes! July just ended, so I’m crossing my fingers for some new information in the near future.
Really looking forwards to the Shadows of Darkness soundtrack! The main theme for that one is a song I have loved for ages!
Any new info? Can’t wait to hear it
I’m going as fast as I can but I have decided to do much more material than I had originally planned. Additionally, I took some time off to visit family and when I returned I became ill with a really bad cold for a couple of weeks. I’m feeling well now and have started hitting the project at full force again. I would like to finish in mid to late November if at all possible so it won’t be too much longer. Sorry for the delay but sometimes life can really be unexpected.
It’s going to be worth the wait. I’m really excited about your project and love what I’ve heard from what you’ve posted so far. QFG4 is, hands down, still one of my all time favourite game soundtracks to date.
Aubrey, I just wanted to thank you for doing this. I used to play Necrotaur battle on my guitar years ago, but I was not as good as you at doing it. Listening to those songs with real instruments is great and also, played by their own author in flesh and bones!
All Quest for Glory IV soundtrack was fabulous and made the game really exciting! I’m looking forward for the full album. Wish you the best!
Totally, totally looking forward to this completion!
This was my favorite game of the series, and always thought it had the best music as well.
And then I noticed you plan on doing Yserbius, too! Aw, sweet!
Thank you for the QG4 soundtrack. I am looking forward to the rest of your Sierra Series releases.
Thank you.
Hi.
Fantastic work on the whole soundtrack. I have one question: Did you decide to cut back on the FM Synth versions?
Truly marvelous, Music Box is just phenomenal.
Cheers,
Aubrey’s soundtrack made QFG 4 an unforgettable game for me. Loved how atmospheric and appropriately ambient it was. I still listen to it 🙂
I just wanted to send you a huge THANK YOU for publishing the updated QFG4 music. I love it. It has been my favorite music for as long as I can remember. Back when I was first playing the game in the mid/late 90’s I downloaded all the midi files online, and they’ve been a staple of my music collection until now when I can finally replace them with high quality tracks. Again, thank you for all of your work, and best of luck to all of your future endeavours!
Mr. Hodges,
I am an aspiring musician, do you make available or sell any of the sheet music for this album?
Many thanks
Not at present. I am considering releasing some after I get a few of my latest projects completed.
